April Tour

After an amazing month of CD releases in the Northwest, I am excited to be heading out into the world with my new album.  I will have the pleasure of playing with a lot of great musicians and traveling to a lot of familiar, and not so familiar places.  Keep in touch!  Maybe I’ll see you out there in the world.

I am very excited to be releasing my new CD, Shimmering Blue in Portland, OR on March 29th at The Old Church.  I have had the pleasure of touring this album in the Northwest with the most amazing band featuring Zak Borden on mandloin, Allen Hunter on bass and Don Henson on percussion.  We will be joined for the CD release by Moody Little Sister which features Naomi Hooley and Rob Stoup. Rob recorded the album and did all the percussion on the record as well as lending his lovely voice to several back up vocal parts.   I am so excited for this show.  Hope you can join us!

This is a recent review from Joe Giltrap in The Irish Post about Songs of Love and Murder, the fourth album in the series to be released in the UK.  Hanz Araki and I put out these four themed records in 2012.  Crazy!  It was an amazing project to be a part of.  This was actually the first one we recorded, but the last one to be released in the UK.  You can find it at Bandcamp or on CDbaby.

Japan Tour 2014

I am very excited to be returning to Japan.  I look forward to gigs with Takeaki Nagahama, Aiko Obuchi and Hirofumi Nakamura, as well as performances in Japanese and International schools.  Hope to see you there!

Happy New Year!

Excited to be heading to the Coast for a New Year Tour.  I’ll be playing with Ara Lee, Zak Borden and Don Henson.  Hope you can join us for one of the shows.  Looking forward to ringing in the New Year by the sea!

Top 10 for 2013 in The Irish Post

I am honored and thrilled to announce that the album The Emigrant’s Song; The Laborer’s Lament, which I released with Hanz Araki in the US in 2012 and the UK in 2013, was named on the Top 10 Albums of 2013 in the Irish Post!  This album is lovely, in my opinion, and it was a pleasure to work with Cal Scott, Cary Novotny, Joe Trump, Chris Hayes, Jordan Leff and Garey Shelton.  The entire project of four themed albums was an amazing accomplishment and I am very proud of what we created in such a short time!  It was an honor to see us listed among other musicians such as Johnny Cash, Martin Simpson, Tim O’Brien and Christy Moore.  Wow!
